Speak Math to Your Kids


Parents usually feel comfortable speaking to their children about letters, words, and sentences, but what about speaking to them about numbers, fractions, and decimals? There are studies that support the notion that speaking math at home can predict math achievement in school.

Studies indicate that the frequency of "number talk" had a significant impact on how well school children understood basic mathematical concepts.
